Caridade (1824)

Voyage Overview

The Brazilian Sumaca, Caridade, left Bahia on 15 January 1824 and purchased 223 enslaved people at Ouidah by July 1824. The captain, João Antônio de Faria, sailed the vessel back toward Brazil as intended, when it likely landed at São Salvador da Bahia on 8 November 1824. Only 211 people survived the Middle Passage.
