Vigilante Guerreiro (1822)
The Brazilian Bergantin, Vigilante Guerreiro, left Bahia on 4 August 1821 and purchased 257 enslaved people at Ouidah (no date recorded). The captain, João Antônio Pontes, sailed the vessel, owned by José Antônio Braga, back toward Brazil as intended in 1822, when it likely landed at São Salvador da Bahia on 21 September 1822. Only 233 people survived the Middle Passage. For more information, see Map of 1822.
